Object Description Written on board: "Illinois. / Photograph of skull taken from one of a group of mounds near Albany, Ill. These tumuli are on the summit of a high ridge overlooking the Mississippi River. The mound in question is about eight feet in height and four feet in circumference. The skull was in a sitting posture at the base of the mound. The soil above it was a darker color than that below. From R. R. Hoy, M.D., Racine, Wis."
