Written on board: "Navajo Indians (Athapascan) / [Woman] placing warp on the loom. The loom is held in place by stones until the operation is completed. It is then placed in an upright position and the weaving commenced. / Navajo blanket making. Taken by G. H. Pepper in N. Mex. 1897 in N.M. Presented by B. F. B. Hyde and F. E. Hyde Jr."
