Object Description 174 commercially produced albumen prints, some with applied color. The majority of the photographs are titled "scenes in Japan" and include formal portraits of Japanese women, dancers, actors, etc. Other subjects include staged views of Japanese life including store fronts, people working in rice fields, and other occupational tasks. Additional views of scenery and festivals. In addition, images of Burma, Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon), and India are also in this collection including views of school children, portraits, and people at work.
