Object Description
Warp-faced plain weave sash in red and green 4-ply s-spun wool and white 4-ply s-spun cotton, 1946 or earlier. Red background with two green vertical bands, each approx. 1.5 cm from outer edge. In center, red and white warp float pattern of 11 diamonds outlined by stepped triangles, separated from each other by narrow horizontal band. Sides are as woven. Warp ends have been grouped and twisted to create a long fringe. Length: 322 cm; Width: 11 cm, Depth: .2 cm. Thread count: Warp-- 14 ends/cm; Weft -- 5 ends/cm. Fairly good condition. Worn away warp threads in spots, exposing weft. Light colored substance stuck to fabric near tagged end.
