Written on board: "Mexico / (Colhua) / Ixtacamaxtitlan / State of Puebla / Plan of Colhua. / --> (direction of) Ixtacamaxtillan / 1. Site of palace .x / 2. Principal group / of small buildings / of fine cut stone. / x building about 80 feet long. / Feb. 1899. Colhua. & town of S. Francisco Ixtacamaxtitlan. / The mountain city of Colhua was visited by Cortes on his / way to Tlaxcala. It is about 2000 ft above the valley, only. accessible on horseback by one path about 1000 inhabitants / when Cortes saw it & residence of the king. He was friendly / with Moctesuma. The remains consist of 1. Site of palace / with fine cement pavement on summit, & 3 groups of mounds / along the ridge, all small. " (See object description text entry for complete description)
