Descriptions
Object Description
Written on board: British Honduras / Kendall / Partial view of another grave, found just beneath the surface near the mound opened in May, 1892, on the said natural flat topped ridge. The grave was found in 1895 accidentally and contained nothing, I was told. As can be seen, the floor and sides are lined with slabs of slate, the sides leaning outward in this instance. I understand that no roofing slabs were found. Very possible the grave had either never been used or had been rifled previously. / From H. W. Price whose address in 1906 was Cambridge New Zealand. See short description of this exploration in Proc. Soc. Antiquaries, Feb. 16, 1899 Series XVII 339.
