Object Description written on board: "Egypt / Baskets / Basket and picture given to Museum by in 1932 by Miss Lucy Eaton. (see / collections of hMuseum - #32-54-50/97."; typed on paper adhered to board: "It is doubtless from Egypt; that is, it is the handiwork of a Hamitic / woman, akin to the ancient Egyptians. This particular one may have lived / somewhere along northern Africa, even as far as Morocco, on the trail of the / Mohammedan relition in the 8th century; or, forsooth, it may have come from / anywhere on the Nile, and even as far south as the Gulf of Aden at the termi- / nation of the Red Sea. But it is Egyptian all the same." / Quoted from a letter of Otis T. Mason, Acting Head Curator, / Department of Anthropology, United States National Museum."
