Object Description
Written on board: "European / 41 B / See Over."; printed on card adhered to verso: "Extensive fractures of a skull--supposed to be by a pistol ball. / History: Mrs. L. F, aged 40 years, was found on the night of November 24th, 1868, lying on her right side in bed, with a / wound on the left side of her head made by a pistol ball, which injury was alleged to have been made by a robber. Aside / from the bullet hole no external mark of injyr was found. The bedding was undisturbed. Autopsy: A bullet hole was / found in the squamous portion of the left temporal bone. This communicated below, by a small fracture, with a triangular /opening, which was in the course of a fracture extending posteriorly to within an inch of the occipital protuberance. The / fracture extended anteriorly to the frontal bone" (continued under remarks)
