Object Description Written on board: "35-10 / Tibet / Card A / See opposite side of card / Gift of Harrison Forman, / The Explorers Club. / New York City" Verso: "Along the northeastern border of Tibet I / found this strange tribe of people. They / are neither Chinese nor Tibetans, nor are / they Moslems. Their speach was unknown to / me. They did speak some Chinese -- though / as if it were a foreign language to them. / Note the photo of the woman and child (Back / view). The single braid, hairdress and / jacket is Chinese, but the backpiece with / the fringes emerging from below her jacket / is distinctly Tibetan. / In photo of group of ladies note the one / with the trousers. She is a Moslem -- one / of 10,000,000 of them in northwest China. / (Probably Salar)
