Object Description
Ceremonial ax from Jemez Pueblo. Axe head is stone. Thick piece of leather around the center of the head and then sewn to to the leather which is wrapped around the handle. Leather on handle is sewn w/ sinew. Part of it is also wrapped w/ a leather thong. Wood handle. Dark patina. 30.2x15.2 cm.
