Archival Scope and Content
Herbert Dick’s Bat Cave photographs depict Plains of San Augustin / Bat Cave excavation sites and staff. They primarily consist of captioned black and white photographs stapled to paperboard, some of which were published in: Dick, H. W. (1965). Bat Cave. School of American Research. In addition, the collection holds: one 8” x 10” black and white photograph; a panorama showing the Southern Plains of San Augustin from Bat Cave, with sites marked; 5 color and black and white lantern slides described as “Stratigraphy, Camp maybe San Augustin NM, Plains of San Augustin NM, Maybe Bat Cave, [unidentified]”; and 4 color and black and white 35mm slides.
