Object Description
Two fragments of supplementary weft weave resembling Huari tapestry. A) feline face with "tear" mark, below an eye split Horizontally; yellow face with red and blue eye, brown tear mark. Above face, red headband with block design in several colors. B) similar face, red with white tear mark, eye gone. Supplementary wefts camelid (z-2s, 30 epcm.), woven over paired warps; ground wefts brown cotton (s, 30 epcm.), interweave on single warps; one alternates with one pattern weft; pattern wefts cover surface. Warp: brown cotton, (s), 24 epcm. 4 x 4.5 cm. (second fragment)
