Object Description
Basket with cover made of bamboo with red, green, yellow and blue yarn woven around bamboo: Semi-circular basket with hinged lid, constructed of two thin layers of split canes laid in opposite directions and lashed together. Outer surface decorated with repeats of rayed face worked with camelid yarns: red, purple, blue, yellow, white (all s-plied) wrapped around individual canes before being lashed down. Edges of basket are protected by strips of fine 2-2 plainweave cotton (s-paired) colored with red pigment.
