Object Description
Embroidered textile fragment - plain weave embroidered in chain stitch; small figure repeated; wool embroidery; brown cotton, embraidery rose-red, gold, purple, blue, black & white: Two incomplete panels of 1-1 plainweave joined along warp selvages. Stem stitch embroidery figures (6 cm., height) aligned in diagonals; each shown in profile holding staff, wearing headdress, spiney projections on back side; gold, pink, black, white, or pink, gold, purple on blue, black, and white. Figures crudely worked. Warp: (z-2s), 12 epcm. Weft: (z-2s), 15 epcm.
