Object Description
Mantle - basic fabric 2 ply dark blue wool in irregular plain weave; 2 webs formed thru center; superimposed along 2 sides rose wool plain weave borders embroidered with human motif in 2 ply wool; length 2.53 x width 1.30 mns,; warp 20 x weft 16 per inch: Embroidered mantle of 1-1 plainweave blue/black camelid; two webs stitched together. Around the edge is stitched a loosely woven border, plainwoven of red camelid and embroidered with flying human figures with t? knives in their mouthes. Figures are embroidered in stem stitch with dark brown, dark green, ochre, brown, gray, and red camelid. Mulitcolored fringe attatched at outer edge. Four selvages. Warp: camelid, (z-2s), 9 epcm. Weft: cameild, (z-2s), 7 epcm.
