Object Description
Shoulder poncho - plain weave tan cotton with embroidered borders with geometric cat motif; background plum color with deep bright blue, yellow, dark green, coral; length 58 cm. x width 38 cm.; warp ? per inch x weft 58 per inch; most of basic fabric missing Rectangle of 1-1 plainweave brown cotton with stem stitch embroidered border (3 cm. width) along neck slit and outer edges. The Oculate Being with trophy head appendages repeated in green, yellow, red, on dark blue ground. Edges finished in cross-knit looping with reverse-s motif in same camelid yarns. Warp: brown cotton, (z-2s), 20 epcm. Weft: brown cotton, (z-2s), 18 epcm.
