Indigenous Term "Da Gli."
Object Description Wood mask with a central vertical brow ridge of copper alloy (brass?), tubular eyes, a broad nose, pronounced cheeks and wide projecting mouth with real teeth and a moveable lower mandible covered with a red wool(?) textile. A triangular piece of what appears to be ceramic or shell is embedded on the sides of the cheeks. The entire front surface is covered with a dark black accretion/encrustation See the Conservation Record for additional information on materials and technology. Wooden face mask. Rounded outline, projecting features, red on mouth, white triangles on cheeks, brass forehead welt, coated with black paste. See "Notes on Masks" in x-file for manner of acquisition.
