Object Description
Wooden face mask. Long projecting side features, neck cloth from a factory, and fiber beard with glass and round beads. Cf. original list in X-file 40-34. Wood facemask with tubular eyes, long beaked nose, rounded cheeks and an open mouth carved serrated teeth. The wide piece of printed cotton textile is attached to the back of the mask. A 'beard' of plant fiber braids, some strung with blue or clear glass beads, is attached to the bottom of the mask. The front of the mask is covered with a thick compact dark encrustation. The interior of the mouth is covered with a crumbly reddish brown encrustation. See Conservation Record for additional information on materials and manufacture.
