Indigenous Term Galukw'aml
Object Description Crooked-beak mask. The mask represents the Crooked-Beak Mask, also called Crooked-Beak- of-the Sky. It has a large, heavy beak with a dramatic curving arch over its nostrils. A smaller Crooked-Beak Mask comes out of the jaw. The mask is mostly black with white eye sockets and detail, and red lips, nostrils, and eyelid lining. The flat crown of the mask is filled with shredded cedar bark.
