Silk embroidered U. S. Consulate banner. On a white silk banner, the British and U. S. flags whose poles intersect at a U. S. shield in center. Inscription on top: "G. B. WITH U. S."; bottom: "Invincible in War, Triumphant in Peace". One edge is frayed. On a cardboard roll with #14997. Stamp on roll: "U. S. CONSULATE/SEP 5 1898/CANTON CHINA". <transliteration> (Chinese name). 38 cm. (?) x 37.3 cm. (?).
