Object Description Written on board: "Arizona / (Camp Mc Dowell) / Phot. at A.M.M. / Photograph od earthenware vase, reduced one-half the size nature. / Collected from 3 1/2 feet below surface of the mesa in digging foundation for buildings at Camp McDowell, Arizona Territory by Assistant Surgeon DeWitt, U.S.A., 1871. The original is in the Smithsonian Institution. No. 624 Sect. VI A.M.M. See report on Barracks, Cricular No, 4, S.G.), 1870 p. 459 Contributed to the Peabody Museum by Dr. G. A. Otis curator A. M. Museum."
