No. 23, found in 1869, with other relics and Mastadon remains, in auriferous gravel, 10 feet below the surface, at Horse-Shoe Bend, Merced River, Mariposa Co., Cal. 24, found in 1863, with other relics, in auriferous gravel, 10 feet below the surface, near Princeton, Mariposa Co., Cal.
