Written on board: "This Stone Dish, Diam. 18 1-2 inches, Circum. 53 inches, Found in 1862, with other Stone Relics and Fossil Mastadon, and other animal remains, in auriferous gravel, below about 20 feet of calcareous tufa, on Gold Springs Gulch, Tuolmne County, California."
