Object Description
Written on board: "Mexico / (State of Vera Cruz) / 1. Large pot, granitic stone very hard, 18 inches height. / grayish lead colour. / 2. Ditto, similar stone but little white outside and inside / as if it was used in keeping lime, outside is engraved / deeply. Ht. 16 1/2 in. / 3. Mortar, in Mexican Molcajebl, black granitic stone / useful for grinding the chile for sauce and others. 9 inches ht. / 4. Similar to 3 but plate inside, not concave, finely / engraved and ornamented with a serpent's head - 6 inches ht."
