Written on board: "California / (on card in image): This Stone Mortar - Size, Diameter 31 1/2 inches, Circum. 25 inches / Was found in the year 1862 by Llewellen Pierce, under Table Mountain, under the Basalt which was about 200 feet from the surface and about 1800 feet from the mouth Tunnel in the Claim, known as the Boston Tunnel Co., Tuolumne Co., California"
(below image) The above Relic, is now in Possession of C. D. Voy. Oakland California.
