Object Description
Written on board: "Lamar County, Texas. 34-119. / T. M. Sanders farm. 1 mi. W. of Direct. Stone pipe accompanying burial #5. Rim of bowl flares out slightly. Stem decorated with faintly incised lines horizontal, and bowl with crudely incised lines in cross hatch design. At base is a deeply incised equal armed cross 1/4" long. Bowl contains black crust; stem shows inside wear, as by reed stem, for 5/16". Ouachita sandstone. One of very few stone pipes found in Texas. / Length: 1 1/4", height 1 1/2, diameter of bowl 5/8", diameter of stem 9/16".
