Descriptions
Object Description Written on board: "Bowie County. Texas. 34-119. / Campsite at Old Mitchell Place, 9 mi W. of Texarkana. Tubular stone pipe or "cloud blower." Only form of decoration consists of three incised lines around each end. From the stem end the small hole extends 11/16" at which point the size of the hole enlarges abruptly to about 3/4" and from there to bowl end the diameter of the hole increases gradually to 1". Fine sandstone. Tubular stone pipes of this type have also been found in Central and South Texas. Length 3 3/4", diamter large end 1 5/16" (inside) 1". diameter small end 5/8" (inside 7/16"). / Gift of J. E. Pearce, Chairman. Department of Anthropology University of Texas."
