Written on board: "Tubular pipe of earthenware from midden and burial mound on Red River. Not with a burial, but in camp refuse at depth of 11". Part missing. Crude workmanship with end roughly rounded. No decoration. Diameter of hole about 1/2" for entire length. Photo full size. Gift of J. E. Pearce, Chairman of Department of Anthropology, University of Texas."
