Object Description Written on board: "Huichol / Mexico / Jalisco / 40-88 / N30410 (whole board) H8153"; Typed caption on mount: "Votive bowls and votive offerings / See collection Nos. 214 to 235; 236; and 88 to 91 / The largest votive bowl (center) belonged to the grand- / father of one of the officials of Santa Catarina. It is / over 50 years old. / The short brazil-wood wand (itzu) was taken from the / Temple to the Sun at Pochotita and secretly sold to me by / my Huichol friend's father, the 'Ta-yau,' or representative / of 'Our Father Sun,' at the time."
