Bolo tie of Yei in silver and turquoise

Object Description
Navajo bolo tie from 1960s-1970s. Very stylized yei figure with three large tear drop pieces of pale green spider web turquoise in the headdress, smaller pieces of turquoise for the ears, and an oval piece mounted in the center of the kilt. All turquoise set in simple bezel with rope trim. Small blue turquoise pieces at the wrists and for eyes. Yeibichai figure wears kilt with squash blossom necklace and has protruding tubular mouth and bent legs. Reverse is stamped with "HL", hallmark for Helen Long. Cord is plaited black leather, terminating in simple tips with disc endings.
12 cm high, 6.5 cm wide, 2.2 cm deep; cord is 111 cm total length.
