Written on board: Oaxaca, Zapotec. / Cat. No. C/10149 / Female Personage Attired in the Habiliaments of the Goddess "8 Z" (La Diosa "8 Z") Height: 6-7/8". Color: Dark gray ceramic with light gray overwash and vestiges of red pigment. Collected by John McPherson. Acquired by Museum in 1928. Epoch of Transition. (A.D. 200 - 350) This goddess is the female counterpart of the God with the Buccal Mask of the Serpent.
