Object Description
Written on board: Oaxaca, Zapotec. Cat. No. C/47112 / Male Personage Attired in the Habiliaments of the God of Glyph "L" (Dios del Glifo "L") Height: 11 3/4". Color: Light gray ceramic with lighter gray overwash. Provenience: "Found in excavating a mound, Ocotlan." Collected by G.W.E. Griffith about 1885. Note the semi-circular back of the throne or dossel on which the figure originally stood, which carries the "eye-of-the-serpent" motif.
