Descriptions
Object Description Written on board: Tarascan / Mexico / "Tarascan" Pedra de la Salud, Janitzio, Patzcuaro, E.F.C. 1942 / "Pedra de la Salud" / A grand old Tarascan Indian. Earrings made of pink paper on cotton string. Note (her left eye) strange slanting up line at corner. I find no description of this form in medical books. Tarascan Indians are the only Mexican Indians who have strong chins and heavy cheek bones. May be brothers-cousins of the Seris? Note pair of buxom corsets in the shape of the flesh on her chin. She wore magnificent patches. Pedra was a grand old girl and my friend. How her hands could fly through the air with grace when she ate.
