Object Description
Sleeve from tunic 24097, slit tapestry, composed of narrow bands of weft faced plainweave flanking a central band of birds woven in slit tapestry, and a band of simple weft-float weave. The piece is folded parallel to the warp and joined at the side. A separately woven yellow camelid fringe is stitched aroung the opening. A narrow piece of weft patterned cloth is stitched inside the opening. 1 warp, 1 weft selvage. Warp: brown cotton, z-2s, 9 epcm. Weft: camelid, z, 55 epcm.; cottton, z.
