Object Description
Slit tapestry border fragment with diagonal stripes of interlocking "s"'s alternating with stripes of long-necked birds. Outlining woven and warp-wrapped. Above and below, series of Horizontal stripes of weft-faced plainweave, flanking row of small birds. One warp, one weft selvage. Warp: brown cotton, (z-2s), 6 epcm. Weft: red, yellow, gold, black, white camelid, (z-2s), 34 epcm. Weft fringe (14 cm., length) gold camelid (z-2s), stitched along lower edge.
