Object Description
Feathered cap band. Surface entirely covered with feathers. Viewed Horizontally, upper portion orange ground with alternating rectangles of yellow and blue; below, a blue edge. Foundation cloth 1-1 plainweave white cotton. One weft edge cut and overcast. At two corners heading cords extend as knotted ties, ties are knotted to the other corner. Each quill is bent over one yarn which knots and secures it before moving to the next yarn; a second yarn knots further down the quill, then stitched to foundation cloth with a third yarn. Warp: z-2s, 14 epcm. Weft: z-2s, 5 epcm.
