Descriptions
Object Description Mask and silk bag to hold it. Mask of a man with a worried expression, constructed out of one piece of carved wood with a beige paper ground, over which paint is applied, delineating the details on the face. Light yellow bunches of horse hair have been attached to the mask along the chin for a goatee and along the forehead hairline, where they are swept upwards and tied to the center of the forehead with a ties of thread and vegetable material. Two thick braided cords of silk (?) are looped through perforation in the wood as ties for wearing the mask. The back is stained/painted black. A silk bag is associated with the mask. It is a yellow textle with blue green painted floral designs. The inside of the bag is lined with a plain weave fabric.
