Object Description
Mantle; rectangular cloth composed of 2 complete wefts, seamed together w/running stitch. Each divided by stepped diagonal of interlocking warps, into a red and a purple section of 1-1 plainweave camelid (z-2s, 13 epcm.). Color placement reversed for the 2 halves. At top, bottom, border of red weft-faced plainweave on 3 warps; in center, band of complementary weft weave w/discontinuous wefts. One side has repeated figures w/rayed headdresses in red/white, orange/brown, blue/brown, green/brown. At other end, birds in diamonds; other side, repeated felines one end, diamonds other, same colors.
