Object Description
Shawl with brocaded corners - staff bearing figures; weft faced wool border with interlocked pattern: Mantle: plainweave tan cotton (2s-plied), four stepped corners woven with supplementary camelid weft floats, two red, two purple. Each corner has four rows of repeated figure: profile jaguar holdin staff, frontal figure with staff and trophy head, bird-head appendages. Across warp selvages are borders of red camelid weft-faced plainweave and a row of felines and birds in complementary weft float weave, with discontinuous wefts: purple plus red, blue, dark green or yellow. Two widths seamed together. Four selvages.
