Object Description
Band (from a garment) of warp float weave and plainweave. Design of birds enclosed in diamonds by wave band, woven in warp-faced simple alternating float weave of alternating brown and tan cotton warps. The weave is "turned" three-spun brown floats form the positive on one side, negative on the other. The design is flanked by two warp stripes of white cotton, then along the edges. One warp, two weft selvages. Warp: cotton, (z-2s), 34 epcm. Weft: tan cotton, (z-2s). See 54461 a.
