Object Description
Band from tunic(?). Four strips seamed together: two with a bird design in zig-zag wave bands, complementary warp float weave brown and tan cottons. Vertical fretbands flank the broad design. Between warp-patterned designs is a strip of 1-1 plainweave white cotton. Outer edge is a similar strip of plainweave with a stepped corner of tapestry, woven on discontinuous warps. Repeats of a small profile bird in black and yellow camelid (z-2s) on red ground ((z); 40 epcm.) 1 warp, 7 weft selvages. Warp: cotton, z-2s, 22 epcm. Weft: cotton, s, 12 epcm.
