Object Description
Modified storm pattern rug with Ganado colors, made by Evelyn Curley. Rug was woven in 1981, at Hubbell's, as a demonstration piece (Ann Hedlund has pictures of this weaving in progress). Central element is a red stepped diamond enclosing a gray-blue cross and outlined in black, then outlined in white with a hook pattern at corner of steps; this element is enclosed in a gray 8-pointed star outlined in white then black, with four diamond-shaped fret outlines at four side points and the black outline continuing at top and bottom points to connect by means of two steps ornamented with black outlined white squares to meet the four square corner elements.
