Object Description
Huipil, 3 widths (both sides); medium width - short length category; white ground, no warp or weft line designs; brocade single-face, onlay with continuous motives (geometric shapes); patterning made with (treadle) floor thread loom? Red, green, purple, pink, blue and yellow small and large diamond pattern. The 3 widths are sewn invisibly; brocade covers both front and back completely; rows of diamond motives organized by color diagonally separate rows of more complex shapes similar to flowers. The brocade for the neck and arm areas is green (with miniature colored diamonds) in a zigzag pattern oriented vertically. Floats are ubiquitous. A special pattern.
