Written on board: "Upshur County, Texas. 34-119. / J. M. Riley farm, 7 miles E. of Lafayette, Upshur County, Texas. / The jar is of featherweight material, is elaborately decorated with incised lines and grooved depressions, and bears two suspention holes on each side. The shape of the rim is out of the ordinary in this region. / Height 6"; diameter 4". / Gift of J. E. Pearce, Chairman of the Department of Anthropology, University of Texas."
