Display Title Stone carving - kayak carriers
Descriptions
Object Description Stylized stone carving depicting two men carrying a kayak on their left shoulders. The figures' hair and clothing are defined by incised lines. The figure in front was originally holding a paddle (?) probaby made from another material and it is presently detached and missing. The object is carved from a single piece of dark grey stone which has faint, light beige striations throughout. The incised lines and recesses of the sculpted areas are rough and light grey in color, adding definition to the details. Overall, the surface has a matte appearance and is not highly polished.
