Object Description
Early Chinle rug. Five bands of white with deep red and orange outlined geometric figures, separated by three bands of a red, an orange and a tan stripe bordered by gray stripes; and with a border band of gray, white, light brown, orange, red band at one end and gray, light brown, orange, red band at other end, and black-brown border on all four edges. The center white band has narrow red stripe across short red diagonal land vertical lines crossing it which enclose orange triangles; the white bands above and below concentric have concentric lozenges and triangles in red, orange, and light brown; the outer white bands have a series of "feather" motifs in orange, light brown and red.
