Object Description
Chinle rug. Four bands with central rose-tan stripe with joined concentric stacked white and gold triangles in "butterfly" motif on a gray background; these bands separated by three bands consisting of lines of beige, dark brown and bands of gray, with a central band of gold with dark brown, tan and white stripes. Bands at top and bottom of gray with one stripe of gold, white and dark brown lines, and narrow band of rose-tan at edge. Warp: white wool; wefts: tan-pink, tan, light tan, gold, gray, white, black natural and vegetal colored wool. Selvages: weft wrapped around outer warp at sides, 2-ply gray cords added in at top and bottom.
Warp direction 131.5 weft direction 108 x depth .5 cm, plus 9 cm tassel each corner.
