Object Description
Wide Ruins rug, made by Mable Chester. Three dark brown bands of four full and two half serrated gold diamonds with white accent outlining enclosing serrated brown diamonds with white accent outlining, between borders of rust-brown, white, rust, brown and white lines banded by four narrow bands of gold; these bands separated by bands of rust-brown, white, rust and brown lines. Warp: white wool; wefts: gold, light brown, dark brown, dark tan, rust-brown, dark rust-brown, white vegetal dyed and natural wool. Selvages: gray 3-ply cords added in at sides, gold 2 ply cords added in top and bottom.
Warp direction: 108.5 cm x weft direction: 82.5 x depth: .4 cm, plus 9 cm tassels each corner.
