Object Description
Wide Ruins rug, made by Nellie Roan. Three horizontal bands of light brown edged with olive and white pick and pick beading lines, enclosing serrated central diamond and two half diamonds of brown outlined in gold and enclosing rose-tan cross figure, with horizontal zig-zag white lines above and below diamonds, these bands separated by four bands of gold with center stripes in gray, white, rose-tan, dark brown and gold. Warp: white wool; wefts: gold, dark brown, light brown, rose-tan, gray and white vegetal dyed and natural wool. Selvages: gold cords added in on all four edges. Warp direction: 75 x weft direction: 47.5 x depth: .3 cm, plus 7 cm tassels at each corner. Additional notes under Conservation.
