Object Description
Late classic serape with three bands of serrated diamonds at each side on background of narrow stripes of red, white, blue-black, and tan. Saltillo influence. Warps form short fringe on each end. Plain tapestry weave. Thread count: 3.5 warps per cm; 24 weft per cm. Weft: red z-spin, s-twist, 3-ply wool; white z-spin wool; blue-black z-spin wool; white z-spin wool; blue-green z-spin wool; tan z-spin, s-twist, 3-ply wool; light green z-spin, s-twist, 3-ply wool. Warp: deep gold z-spin, s-twist, 3-ply wool; blue-green z-spin, s-twist, 3-ply wool; tan z-spin, s-twist, 3-ply wool. Selvages: blue-black z-spin, s-twist, 3-ply wool woven in on sides; warp threads knotted to form short fringe
